And I wonder if any of you guys would be willing to help me with some questions via email. My truck is a '51 GMC with an alternator. I have never done anything like this before. I have made a "as is drawing" but I do have a few questions. Thanks in advance! | | |

My alternator has an external regulator, the harness was for an internal. But through trial and error I think I got it hooked up right, 2 weeks of driving with no dead battery. Feel free to ask away.

About the wire from the ignition to the alternator without continuity? this may be a stupid question but did you have the key on when testing, and also try it off. It may be that the screw terminals on the ignition switch don't match what you thought. Like I said my alternator wiring was all messed up because of the external regulator so I am not sure what should go where.

P.S. being a fellow woodworker have you given any thought to wooding up your truck. I know a lot of the purists will be upset, but I am making wood panels for the doors to replace the cardboard ones, also I think I will try wood sunvisors. I think this will all compliment the wood bed. Just my thought.
