| | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 62 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 62 | Hello all! I'm replacing shocks all around on our '50 Chevy and '51 GMC trucks. Last I did this was many moons ago on an old mustang. I recall it being a simple bolt in...But my buddy is having trouble on the 51 GMC.
We've removed the rear shocks, but he can't get the new ones (from LMC) to bolt in as. He says that the shock mounts are "cockeyed" and out of line...
Any suggestions? Thanks! Dickson

I used a die grinder to remove enough metal to make the new bolts fit. As I remember it the new bolts are stepped differently than the originals.
