Just curious. Sound like the bolt was previously twisted or weak. If it went in easily it should come out easily.
Careful drilling and an easy-out should do it like 1958GMCnut mentioned. Should not require a heli-coil unless cross threaded beyond cleanup/tapping or you used to big a bit.
Have pulled out many over the years that were extremely stuck. | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 864 | don't drill thru the hood though..... | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | Ive had hood luck using left hand drills to get broken fasteners out.
not much torque on the hood bolts, should back right out.
Not sure what year truck you have. If it was my 50 I would remove the hood to get a better shot at it.

Don't know what happened on his but on mine the head was frozen in the hinge and broke when I opened the hood one day. I drilled it out and tapped the hole. Once I put new bolt in hood opened fine. The whole time with the stiff opening hood I thought it was the hinges not the bolt binding up. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 150 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 150 | Ive had hood luck using left hand drills to get broken fasteners out.
