I'm working on restoring my early 1947 (46 style) COE. Can I re-use the clutch and pressure plate just as they came out or do I need to replace them? They were stuck, but came apart without tearing the friction material. The clutch disk looks pretty good with what looks to me to be plenty of thickness remaining. The thickness measures 0.330"

Some buddy must have just changed it before pulling the engine and leting it lay under a piece of tin for 20 years or so. I used it and have put over a 1000 miles on the truck in the last few years with no problem. But I did have the pressure plate rebuilt,faced the fly wheel and bought a new throw out bearing. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 49 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 49 | There is a place called " Fort Wayne Clutch " I had my 31 Chrysler pressure plate and clutch plate rebuilt there with new springs and lining.They looked new when I got them back.

Never looked for a new one. They disassembled it, ground the face and reassembled it. I picked up a new throwout bearing there and took the flywheel to work and faced it to save some $$. | | |
