I have a 1952 3100 with the original 216 in it and would like to know if the factory color was black Thanks all

There is not a lot of agreement on the exact color for a 216 engine, but black was supposedly not an original color.

A relatively dark blue gray engine paint is sold by the Filling Station, and many people like that color for 216 and early 235 engines.

Thanks Tim i really thought it was black but had seen alot of the blue gray now i know why. also DrewP i tried sending you a personal message regarding the oil line you offered me for the 216 dont know if you got it im new at this stuff.Would like to know how to get intouch with you. Thanks Dirk

Dirk, an FYI, double posting (same question or thread in more than one forum) is usually frowned on. I replied to your thread in the engine shop forum then found this thread. It's not a huge deal but it's a practice we don't encourage. You might consider contacting the moderator of one of the two forums and ask them to merge the two threads.

Tiny, Thank you for the fyi i hope this did not cause you or anyone else a hardship because i have just found this site and for the most part eyerone has been very helpful was not sure if it was an engine or paint question after i didnt get any response on the engine page.Im so sorry for not knowing about the double posting.Thank you Dirk
