For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 | Does anybody know if u can buy the half round locking "clip" that holds the bolts tight on an enclosed driveshaft? It goes over the u-joint, is half round , has the two bolt holes and locking tabs. My locking tabs are broken and just want/need ? to replace them (2). I guess I could always remember my F-4 Phantom days and just find some correct bolts to safety wire the bolts. Or am I just worrying too much?

If those bolts come out it gets very ugly in there, I took mine apart after 28 years and now I know why the fella I bought it from rebuilt the transmission,(at least said he did) the bolts had obviously came out at one time. The bolts, the yoke, and the little ball joint areas was all beat up. He didn't even bother to dress the high spots caused by the carnage, just bolted it back together. Leading me to wonder what sort of work was done on the transmission. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 | Thanks everyone.
