I found my needle in the haystack today. The OE Power steering bracket for my 261 6 cylinder. Only problem is that the pump that I picked up from the local parts store does not fit correctly. I have attached links to some pictures of the pump I am trying to identify. It is possibly a 1960 pump. I dont have the pump in the picture however my bracket is the same. This is the pump that I need, I just don't know whether they are still available. If you have a pump or know which one it is I am looking for a part/casting number so that I can try and find one. Thank you in advance.

looks like a pump off of a early/mid 60's chevy.

Hy Str8six, the reservoir on those pumps can be interchanged, that way you can find the one with the correct configuration of return line attachments. As "Tommy" said the pump looks like the ones used until the mid sixties, hope that helps.

Thanks guys. I actually have a pump that came up in the local parts stores catalog as a 62 chevy pump, however it looks like the attached image on the back. Pump fits tight in the bracket pictured in the above links so the indent on the right lower portion around the attachment bolt does not allow it to pivot. I dont have the pump with the smooth back so nothing to interchange. I am wondering if anyone might have one with the same smooth case, if they do, possibly a casting number might lead me in the right direction.

After making some alterations to the bracket I have been able to get it to bolt up to the motor using the pump that I have. I would still be interested in knowing what pump is in those first pictures.
