On my 46 1/2 ton one shock is missing .
Any suggestions for a source of replacements .Or is there a good way to mount modern shocks with the stock axle ?

Yes. You can fab shock mounts and/or I believe one or more of the vendors sells conversion kits (Jim Carter??) I converted my '38 coupe to tube shocks in the front using '39 straight axle mounts.

Hey neighbor...I know a few local hoarders (myself included) that should be able to hook you up with a knee action replacement or you could investigate converting your truck to tube type shocks and scavenge some mounts off a local 51-53 frame. PM me if you need.
