The headlights are original on this truck. The light beam is dismally weak. It has new bulbs but do not provide enough light to travel more than 20 or 30 mph at night. Are there better lenses for these lights?

There are some options to help brighten up 6V headlights. I have the same issues and drive with my Hi-Beams on almost all the time.

Some say better grounding helps, they also make headlight relays

I have also read some motorcycles use LED headlights and they could be used for us as well...

I'm with Cletis, tell us what truck you're referring to. Does it use prefocus bulbs? If so there are some options that can really make a difference with a minor expenditure.

There are halogen versions of your bulb. Also you can get a sealed beam conversion which would give you 6 volt sealed beam headlights. Your choices go way up if you switch to 12 volts. With 12 volts you can get halogen bulbs and new reflectors that can be made to fit. With my 38 Master, I am going to 12 volts and I have bought a much brighter bulb replacement made by Ron Francis.

The original bulbs are prefocus base bulbs. I believe the original bulb was a 2320 which would have been 21 candle power low beam and 32 cp high beam. You can go to the 2330 which is 32/32 or the more rare 2530 that is 50 cp high and 32 cp low. An easier modification (cheaper too) is to contact Bill Hirsch and buy a pair of their 2330 or 2530 halogen prefocus bulbs. The amperage draw for a halogen bulb is higher than stock so make sure your charging system is good. Bill Hirsch Auto.

Might be a bit off the main stream of this, but I have a 37 as well. The socket attached to the reflector that the bulb clips in is rusted, the reflectors are nice. Any idea where to get new socket/pigtails? Thanks.

I think I've seen sockets and definitely pig tails listed in the Ron Francis catalog.

Check the voltage at the bulb terminals. Then break a connection and put in an ammeter.

You can piddle around with different bullbs all you want but there is no defying Ohm Law. Too small a wire is high resistance which is voltage drop. You may have bad connections alow. If you must stay stock then you may need to replace all wiring components.

If my vehicle I take out all in line connectors where I can do western union splace and solder then tape it.

Looks like Ron Francis has something very similar that will work. Thanks - been searching for a while with no luck and I think this has solved it!
