i went to roll the window up and it was up and the shut the door and guess what?? it fell all the way down ,, i guess its time to take it apart and do my window channel and fuzzes while the door panel is off, does anyone know of a how to on these things ( channel and fusses ???i can figure out the window regulator

can i use something else other than the setting tape to mount the glass into the window bottom channel ???? ohh i am on the look out for a front side glass for my biscayme too

you could use RTV, but you should be able to get proper glass setting tape for the sash from a local auto glass shop

ohh ok i know it butal tape ,, we use butal tape for glass also but outs in about 1/2 wide and 1/4 think , but i will check ,, you think local parts store would have a setting tape ??

the auto parts stores aren't likely to have it, but any glass shop should have different thicknesses, and width can be trimmed after setting - and all the vendors have it

is there a how too on removing the side glass,, i got a book coming along with parts , i just wanted to get a head start on learning

I'd be wary of much silicone adhesive in the setting track. Could be a bugger to get the window should you need to again.

yeah i know , i'll wait till i order my window weratherstrip stuff and get some ,, i would like to find a easy way to get the window out ,,,

silicone can be cut down each side and it'll pull loose .... for the original goo, carefully dribble some gasoline or lighter fluid along each side to soften it up, might take a bit of fussing but you should be able to wiggle it out - see the shop manual

Is this for a CAR! A CAR! This is truck central, boy, I say, Stovebolt, boy. Sashes, for the trucks, have special rubber seals for the bottom of the glass with a "wiper" flange. red58 does this work on a 58 car as well ??

the car manual doesn't go into as much detail, but AFAIK the technology is identical, you need to soften it up after 50 years

Did you get the door panel off yet so you can see inside? How do you know the track has just not come off the rollers?

yeah i got it off and the spot welds came lose i was able to grind them down and use some small bolts and reattach it , i am ready to go when my stuff gets here,, i have been reading on how to remove the window ,, looks like its going to be tough

I've pulled a few over the years. It's been a while but I do remember some can be very tedious and a like a puzzle to get them out. Getting them back in can be a feat too. I don't know about yours exactly. Just work slow, pay attention, take notes if you need to. And remember; someone that wears pants put it in there so you can get it out.

well my stuff came in and the book didnt ,, now i have to try to get the window out ,, i think i have to remove the vent assembly ?? i will give it a shot tomm and see ,i wish the book had come in

well i got started and i think i have a problem.. i bought 2 pcs 73 in long they told me that's enough to do a 4 door car , is this true cause the math don't add up ,,, and i see the front door front is different than the rest of the channel , so can someone add to this please
