Ok gentleman I have a 38 GMC, it has been changed over to 12 volt neg ground and I am running an alternator. Right now I am using the original gauges but will be replacing with different/new gauges (77 Datsun 280Z gauges) I know how to by past the amp gauge but I am having a massive brain fart on how to hook up the volt gauge. Can I just hook the volt gauge up to to switched side of my ignition switch it is the original switch (just on and off no start) or is there some other place that is better. I have a rebel wiring harness in my truck and I did all the wiring ?????

just use a "t" splice off of the gauge power wire. i've used many rebel kits, and works for me.

so I could add a wire for the volt gauge right where I splice the wires back together from the amp gauge.
