Why would my genartor light stay on ? is the genartor out or osmthin its for a 62 chevey c-10 any one help plz ?

Remove the field wire from the regulator & ground it. If it charges then the regulator is bad. If not the gen. is bad or something wrong in the circuit. Its best to check it with a voltmeter. The voltage will increase from the basic 12 volts if it is charging. Do not run it very long or fast with the field grounded.
