The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area The Electrical Bay Firewall Pad...Fuse Block

A quick question please...

I have a new firewall pad for my 64, and also a new aftermarket fuse block.

Do I mount the fuse block on top of the pad or mount the block first and then cut the pad?

Its been a long time since I tore all that stuff out!

On my 59 I installed the pad and all I had to do was knock out the small rectangle for the mounting tab!

I did my 64 just as Bob describes; have fuse box hanging loose, install pad, punch out "holes" for fusebox, remount, done. Brian

Thanks guys...Just doing a checklist for re-assembly and I didnt pull the new pad from the rafters and look at it to see the punch out.

But then again, I'm an idiot.

I know someone who's horn did burn out. Its
probably ok as long as you don't stay on it
very long, but if it were me, I'd put in the
resistor for insurance. Just remember to keep
the resistor away from contacting anyting.
They get very hot.
