The piece looks like the window wipe that goes on the window side of the interior garnish. It should be curved on the end nearer the latch. Should look like these pics of window wipes from The Truck Shop:
< First column, second row >If they are not curved as in the pic, they will probably be hard to bend smoothly. I bought the entire kit from The Truck Shop for my '54 3104 and was pleased.
I used the staples that came with the kit to attach the wipes to the garnish. I explained the process in a post that disappeared in the recent forum software upgrade. Here is the rescued text of the post:

Denny Graham posted a pic of a good way to mark the holes for the staples.
Use a right angle pick, kinda like a dental pick, through the holes on the garnish to mark the location onto rubber on the wipes. I used a
spring punch to dimple the metal on the wipes, then drilled with a 1/16" bit. Some of the holes go between the gaps in the metal and don't need drilling. Drill the holes in the garnish with the 1/16" bit also to fit the diam of the staples. I bent the staples over with 4" Task Force mini vice grips - $2 -
from Lowe's. The inside of the jaws are curved enough to clear the edge of the garnish when crimping. Start the staple bending in the right direction with needle nose pliers, then use the vice grips. Worked great and was fairly fast. Protect the edge of your garnish with tape while your work. (Don't ask me how I know that.)

I believe that the tips of original staples were probably folded over into the fuzzies of the wipes. I found it easier to insert the staples though the holes that I drilled in the wipes and fold them over against the garnish. The staples disappear into the fuzzies on the wipes.
Some 'Bolters attach the wipes to the interior garnish with trim cement. Others use screws or pop rivets
