on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 136 | I recently replaced the kickdown bracket & cable on my Turbo 350. I now can't get the kickdown hookup rod all the way back in to the trans to bolt down the housing.
Do I have to pull the pan to see if I dislodged something or is there a secret to getting the rod to seat properly? The plunger seems to wotk freely.

The cable housing has a large-diameter section that allows the rod to go into it about another 3/4" or so when the throttle linkage goes to full travel. If the rod is sticking out further, you'll need to drop the pan and see what's going on inside. It's a very simple setup- - - -the ONLY thing the cable does on a 350 is initiate the full-throttle downshift. The modulator controls the shift points. Jerry
