I'm trying to to put a one wire alt on a 39 216 can I use the pulley from the gen on the alt?and what kind of brackets will work?

Hy Weld a lot, yes you should be able to use the generator pulley on the alternator, they are both 17 mm if I remember correctly. As to the brackets, you should be able to use the generator upper brace, but the lower one you will have to fabricate, or possibly purchase from one of the suppliers, hope that helps.
