Well i moved my truck to my buddy"s newly acquired farm last Sunday... I should have more of an opportunity to work on it there and its in nice dry garage.

we used a dolly to pull it the 4 miles or so which went off without a hitch. we used a come--long to pull it on the dolly seeing as it hasn't ran in about 20 years.

earlier this year i did an oil change but have barely touched it otherwise since i got it about 6 months ago..

well we figured it would be easier to get it running than to push it around with the skidsteer so we figured we'd tinker a bit.

turned it over a few times with no plugs, replaced 1 broken plug, fixed a wire connection in the igniion system, cleaned up the points...
we bypassed the gas tank in favor of an old gas can on the passenger floor. and rigged up a battery sitting on the fender since the tray has rusted away...

all told about an hour later we hit the start button and with a little throttle play she roared to life! so i got to drive my truck (sans brakes) for the first time off of a dolly and into a garage smile

it actually runs really smooth and sounds great! oil pressure is about 15-20 psi at idle ( oh yea, so far all gages work) so that is good. started dropping toward 10 but engine was getting hot so we pulled it into garage and shut it down. I'm thinking t-stat is stuck closed.

I'M SO PSYCHED
