on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 8 | Looking at buying lowering springs 3" in back and 2" in front. My question is will I have to purchase new spindles or can I just buy the springs??? I was told that I don't and that I can still use the shocks that are on the truck!!
Thanks for input fellow Stovebolters!!

Therefore as long as you don't modify the rubber bump stops the shocks will work just fine. Lowering springs more than 2" lower than stock on the front will provide very little suspension travel... that's when folks start cutting bump stops for more clearance, that's when you end up needing shorter shocks. As the song goes "One thing leads to another" Hope that helps! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 | The spindles I've seen lower 2-1/2" AND require switching to disc brakes. BUT, they don't change your geometry like lowering springs. I put 2" lowering springs on mine, front and rear, and use stock shocks...works good after replacing worn out ball joints. I want an anti-sway bar next.
c If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.1965 Chevy C10 | | |
