In the 64', is a Rochester on the 230 that is starting to act up, and my question is can this be transplanted in place of the Rochester, and what differences would I have other than using the older model oil bath air cleaner vs. that paper element air horn box I have now? Thanks for any help.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | I don't think the W1 would work on you're 64 for one it's port vac and you need manifold vac for you're distributor.Also the W1 is for a smaller engine a 216.
Look for a Carter # 3770S for auto trans or a Carter # 3771S for a manual trans both of them are for a 230 in 64.

In the meantime,I'll have to keep tinkering with the Rochester and start looking for something to replace it with. Bout' done with the truck, so it's time to start something new. Have to wait and see what my therapist says about that idea. | | |
