The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Will '47-'53 pick-up bumpers fit '41-46 pick-ups?

My customer told me someone told him this. The '47-53 repop bumpers are cheaper than the older ones. I'm guessing it would be the front bumper that would interchange since it has more arch to it; the rear bumper on the '47-54 pick-ups is pretty straight. I believe '41-46 pick-ups used the same bumper on the front and rear.

Check out photos in the Gallery.. they sure look similar, but may not have same curve, length or width. Somebody will be along to tell us.

edit: the '40 does use the same bumper front and rear, and it is the same as the passenger car.

I believe 1941 was the first year that trucks got their own bumpers. No more car bumpers.

They might fit but it would probably take a lot of work to make them look right.
