Hey, I'm wondering if anyone has a diagram of what goes through what hole in the firewall. I'm trying to assemble a former basket case, and it would sure be helpful. Yeah, I know I need to purchase an assembly manual, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Larry, people will need to know what kind of truck, and the year of it.

The 'bolt covers trucks from 1916 to 1972, so as 55 Shaker mentioned... if you want a useful answer, we are going to need more information.

kinda info we need:

year model

chevy or gmc (some of the older trucks had very different wiring setups between the two)

model number for ton rating

engine, trans, any known modifications may be an issue as well.

Gotta get a Factory Assembly Manual. You'll drive yourself crazy without one. The info that you want is in the '47-'54 Factory Assembly Manual. I assume that it is the same for your '49.

> Section 1, Sheet 3.19 - firewall
> Section 12, Sheet 1.00 - Gauges and harnesses (may be difficult to see)
> Section 12, Sheet 1.001 - Speedo and wiring harness clip. Different clip shown in same Sheet Number on right side of manual.
> Section 12, Sheet 4.05 - brake light switch
> Section 12, Sheet 5.00 - Voltage reg, fuse box, horn relay (if your '49 has one), wiring harness.
