Then realized fuel pump leaking badly. Replaced with new pump. Now I have gas in carb, even shot a little ether to be sure, no spark at all. Iginition is on in cab. Where should i go from here. I have a simplified 12 volt system.(My dad and i converted 15 years ago, but since i was 10, don't remember much about it. Is there a way to see if i'm getting spark, or can i put my voltmeter on coil to take measurements? Any help would be appreciated.

#89464 12/10/2001 12:08 AM | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 1,897 | You should have 8 or 9 volts at the small wire on the coil(both sides).If not, start tracing the wire back ,,,ballast resistor(both sides),,,and go back to the ign switch.
Most likely something simple.Keep us informed of your progress!

After your help, i grabbed the meter and started testing, on the terminal closest to the firewall i had knocked off the wire while doing some fuel line work. Thanks for your help!! I do have some coverage in Wheels of Time, but it's been some years. I think you guys will like this one, it was used to haul caskets from southern ohio to parts north. The guy who first owned it made wooden caskets and it was his haul truck. Probably why it's in such good shape for a one ton. Most of them that I see look beat to h***!! :p
