I opened the hood and saw oil coming out of the (new) coil, I let it cool down and truck started and died again. Why is the(new)coil overheating? Jo | | |

ignition resistor shorted out and is putting full voltage to the coil?
check resistance across the resistor and voltage at the coil

The coil is installed with the cables on top as it will not leak that way. jo | | |

It will have the ballast resistor built in and has proven to be very reliable. It is all I have used for 6 volt projects for the past ten years...Thanks Randy | | |
