I have a 1949 chevy 216, I am going to buy new pistons for this engine, I am thinking of ordering from Jim Carter, Has anyone bought pistons from Jim Carter? And I would like to know if you were satisfied with the quality etc. Thanks.

Some of Carter's internal engine parts come from EGGE. EGGE has an excellent reputation and history. You can buy from them directly.

Yes order them from EGGE save time cut out the middle man in any parts you can so if by some chance there might be an issue you only have to deal with one company. egge is a US company and if you have any questions on what of and where they are made they can answer. just my two cents

The pistons Carter shows are not Egge's, they look like Silv-O-lite. Some would say they are better pistons then Egge's.

If they are Silv-O-lite pistons ,They ARE better by far! I have used both and there is a difference in the 2.

I purchased my 216 pistons from Egge and just got everything back from the machine shop. I purchased the pistons over a month ago and the rings were back ordered and I have not heard a word from Egge...time to give them a call. I also purchased the crank bearing shells and cam bearings from Egge.

Ross is a ok piston,The very best would be a CP Piston, next JE piston, next Wisco, then Ross...Just saying. Everybody has different opinions about parts and this is my opinion. I have used them all.

This was a mistake, What I got was a set of new old stock pistons in a beat up box that was for a different brand of pistons, Also the rings they sent me didn't fit the pistons. I returned them and bought EGGE. I am happy with them.
