My original heater and defroster seams to run fine with 12 volts. I have these heater and defrost swithes as shown below that I want to use (those kind of switches are like gold!). Will 12 volts ruin these? I guess I can step them down if I have to but I want to keep it simple. And what size fuses should I use? I have a N.O.S switch on the way and I do not want to fry this thing. There is a old timer's auto electrical shop here in town, when I get my switch I am gonna swing in have them look it over and give the scoop on running this thing on 12 volts. I also hope someone here will chime in and give us some more info.
Your truck is looking real sweet! Keep up the good work.

If the motors are bad, I'll replace them with 12 volt ones and get the 12 volt repro switches. I'm debating whether to use separate switches for the heater and defroster or just run them both from the same switch, but I guess using two switches would be the best bet.
As for fuses, I'm planning on using 20 amps which is what my trucks uses for the heater.
