| | | | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 131 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 131 | I am working on rebuilding a Harrison recirculating heater (H-02-47) and am trying to find brushes for the 6 volt motor. The motor is a Delco Appliance 5047683
I have searched and read wh31ere many people said they replaced the brushes but cannot find a source in any of those threads. Tried Napa in person and looked on the Jim Carter and Classic Parts websited but could not find any.

Should Napa be able to find me some brushes if I give them the physical size?

NAPA is an auto parts store, they could get you a new motor, doubt they'll have much for DC motor repair Bill | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,795 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,795 | Carbon brushes don't have any idea whether they're in an automotive application, a skilsaw, or a vacuum cleaner. Check with an appliance repair shop, and try to match up a brush that's about the right size and length. If it's a little too big, a file will take it down to size quickly. If the coppper wire attached to it isn't exactly right, clip it off close to the old brush and solder the original lead onto the new brush lead. Sometimes it's necessary to get creative with this antique stuff!
