What is the trick to getting the cardboard insert into the glovebox? Can it go in from the front or does the heater have to come out to get it in without damage? Thanks for the assistance.

it might go in from the front, sideways, if the heater, isn't in the way of turning it, which I suspect it will be, particularly the defrost hoses .... you may be able to weasel it in from the driver side, but again, the defrost hoses will probably be in the way, so at minimum start with removing those and eyeball it again ..... it most likely will be that the heater does have to be removed, I've put them in before the heater

I have to tell you guys before you install the cardboard glovebox, spray the outside of it with rubberized compound. I’ve done that to mine and its much sturdier and feels more ‘real’
