I added a couple of new pictures pages 3 and 4. The bodyman is finally spraying the inside of the cab! I should get the cab back in the next couple of weeks. I've got the wheels blasted and primed and at the bodyman's. I'm really getting excited. I even cleaned up the old radio and fixed a broken wire and got it working again.

Tom,
The truck looks great! What color is the inside of the cab? Looks silver, but can you be specific? Also, the engine looks great. I also have a 230ci, so I want to know the paint code for the engine too.

Jay,

My painter took the transmission cover in to a paint supply shop and they did a digital analysis of the color. I think the factory used something called "Fawn". I'm not sure it is exactly correct but I sure do like how it came out though. I should get the cab back in a week or so. I'm having it done in two tone. The red is '65 corvette rally red. I know that wasn't available for the trucks but I really liked the color. The white is an off-white chevy 526.

For the engine I used Eastwood ceramic Chevy 6 Cyl Blue Engine paint 51617ZP. I haven't fired up the engine yet, been waiting for the cab then wire and run the exhaust pipe. The color looks great. I'm curious to see if it changes when it gets heated up.

I looked at your sight with all of the great pictures. Looks like we've been through the same process. Good luck!

Very nice truck. Everything looks great.

Where did you find the instrument cluster? I need to refurbish or replace mine. I have the warning lights version and would like to improve on that but don't want to go all the way to a digital cluster.

I sent you a PM with some info on gauge clusters. Are you interested in modifying your current cluster by adding gauges or doing a complete upgrade by swapping out all the gauges?

The instrument cluster came with the truck. I took it apart and cleaned it up well, painted the needles, and polished the lens, and painted the ring around the cluster.

I'm not sure what pontiac the gauge came out of. I think it is a console gauge on something like a GTO. There are a bunch on ebay. I had to take it out of the housing and it fit really well in the left side. I had to dremel a little bit of the cluster but it was much or difficult.

I still want to put a tach in the other opening. I can't find one other than the ones for a V8. I might have to make some sort of circuit to make one of those work.

My preference would be to refurbish mine or get an original one with gauges instead of warning lights and then refurbish it.
