I heard that all I have to do to match it to my torque tube is to change the rear bearing retainer. Is this true? Thanks for any help. | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 469 | Gears are the same just change the parts on the back of the tranny for your torque tube. | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 835 | Also change the speedometer drive gear. I think they will just swap, This will keep your speedometer/odometer true.

I think that some drive gears and driven gears can be mixed-and-matched, but they came as matched pairs. I have purchased speedometer adapters from the The Speedometer Shop to get almost perfect mph readouts on two trucks. Also, Bruce Bugay sold me a NOS one set of NOS speedometer gears. | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,544 | The big truck transmission will have a parking brake assembly mounted to it. | | | | Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 23 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2009 Posts: 23 | | | |
