I got the 'ez wiring' harness a few days ago, now i need to figure out how it goes in. i can figure out everything except the ignition system. can someone with experience with this harness give me some feedback? i have already installed a new alternator, and coil with resistor. i am particularly confused about the red wire, and the pink wire. am am converting the truck to 12 volts
the truck is a 48 3/4 tonne the alternator is a delco remy 94 amp from an 84 camaro (it is new) the coil is 12 volt
thanks a lot everyone

I've been looking at wiring harnesses for my '68 C-10, and people say that Painless is the way to go. They cost $308.99 compared to $175 or so for the EZ wire.
What are the pro's and con's with y'alls so far? Thanks. John

Now I have a new question: The EZ wiring harness comes with a key ignition plug attached to the harness. Which ignition do I order from GM that will fit the plug, and will fit into the original key hole (the same size as the lighter plug)?
As far as reviews for the EZ wiring set up goes, I’m so far very happy with it. The instruction book is pretty basic but if I can figure it out I think anyone could. The only problem I’ve had is the wires to run to the rear end for the tail lights etc. were too short, but adding a few feet of wire was a snap anyway.
I ordered the big harness and found I don’t need more than half of the circuits, but if I ever go with power locks, windows, antenna, ac, etc. I have them handy.
Horvath – I read through your page a few times, but I didn’t want to get too complicated without knowing the basics. I’ll upgrade my setup like yours once I get everything working properly (I also bypassed the amp meter for simplicities sake).

I think painless includes ground wires, but for the price difference I was happy to do my own ground wires! Gecko -- EZ-Wire includes two ignition plugs; one of which will fit any GM column. I had no problem with the tail light wires -- the wires in my kit reached, no problem! I also did all those upgrades about a year after I installed the EZ-Wire harness ... they are wonderful improvements and after doing the EZ-Wire kit, all those improvements were much simpler to do than they would have been before hand! Before I did the EZ-Wire kit I knew absolutely nothing about auto-electrical ... but afterwards, wow -- I felt like an expert!

I put the bedroll tail lights in my truck, too ... you won't have any problems there either.
