I have two quick questions. I plan on installing an HEI distributor ( external coil ) on the 283. Will the coil I used on my Langdon HEI for the 235 I had work with the HEI I plan on installing on my 283? My second question. The 283 ( '67 ) I bought does not have a coil bracket that mounts to the intake manifold. I have found a bunch on eBay, but they range from certain years to certain models, Corvette, Belair etc...... They all look the same, is there really a difference in years of coil bracket? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 | IF the HEI you are installing is a Pertronix, like the "Langdon HEI", the coil shouldn't be a problem. All the brackets should fit a standard 12v coil.
