The motor was seized up so I thought it would be cool to tear it down and rebuild it.
I removed the transmission from the bell housing and pulled out the motor.
Here is my problem. I removed the top 2 bolts on the bell housing and the two bottom bolts in between the flywheel and engine block inside the bell housing. I can not seperate it from the motor. The clutch and pressure plate is still on the flywheel.
Are there any more bolts that I need to remove? Since I can not turn the motor, I do not know what to do. Any ideas? I have removed the head and poured oil on top of the pistons and the guy I bought it from poured oil into the spark plug holes a week before i got it and the motor will still not budge. After I get the bell housing off I will finish tearing down the block on an engine stand but I can not get to that point. Kinda like one of those chinese trap things. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | There is a total of 6 bolts,4 from the inside toward the engine and the two top ones.

Now you can roll the crank out of the block. We do this to many locked up engine we get in......

I called Patricia in Az and he first told me to get a working block then he told me that basically what you guys said that I would have to remove everything and pull the crank and flywheel together.
Since this is my first stovebolt tear down I really love it since I am learning so much. I have to put the wrenches down and walk away frustrated but I keep coming back with a smile on my face.
Thanks everyone I really love reading everyones posts.

I went to a few car shows in las vegas this weekend and went to town i was able to see the other two missing bolts and once removed it was one of the best feelings. Now I am off to the machine shop for the good or bad news. Thanks again folks I could not done it with out you.
