Found a 38 car 216 motor and am gonna put it into a 49 panel truck. Figured I would have to change the front motor mount but in lookin at it, there are 2 square holes in the mount plate that align perfectly for the motor mount on the panel frame. Am I imagining that this is right that back then u could put the motor ina truck or car without changing the front mount plate? My later 216's will not swap car to truck without changing the front mount plate on the motor.
Any help, thanks,
Eric

If it has the holes in the right places on the front plate, then it should work.

Shoot if this works after I switch the bellhousing, I may just drill the next one the same way if I ever need to put a car motor in a truck. Thanks

That's the way it is commonly done.
