can you use just one size wire to all sizes of metal, cause it is kind of pain changing from one size to another..

yes and no. depending on your welder, small (.023) for body panels and light steel(1/8in). bigger stuff(.032-.035) and more amps for bigger stuff. penetration is the reason. the weld may look good but if it doesn't penetrate all the way through, it will not hold.
