Mitch,

Are you going for a complete stock restoration or are you building a street rod? Makes a difference in my opinion as to what you get. For instance,I wouldn't use a painless wire harness with a frame up back to stock truck. If you get a reproduction harness for your year it should have the correct length of wires and connectors, etc.

If you are going stock I'd reccommend the Chevy Duty harness. It has all the wires cut to length, terminals installed and sockets for the dash bulbs.

If you are building a custom I'd go with the painless. I looked at them at a distributor's display at the swapmeet last weekend. I was very impressed. They come with a modern style fuse box complete with fuses and flasher, in either 12 or 18 curcuit. Of course being for custom installations you have to cut the wires to length and crimp your terminals. The sales guy said there's usually plenty of leftover wire.

EZ-Wire is the same as Painless ... only a LOT less money!

Yo' Mitch -- I had a blast rewiring my truck, and with the EZ-Wire kit you have extra fuses, etc. in case you want to add anything to your truck ... like I did ... for only $165

You can get the links and see my whole install Here
