Ive seen some seat sliders on line but their costly and I m thinking of building a bottom frame for all of them to bolt in as one, Anyone got any better ideas? Im also going to install new carpet and trying to come up with some ideas for a custom headliner & door panels?? Some people are like Slinkies, Their not really good for nothing... But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs. 1951 3100 350 TBI Gallery Toddzilla... After searching for a year I found the next project! 46' 1/2 ton in pieces! took 2 trips to get it home, but most of the hard work was already done!!! -jerry "Phil" the 46' | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 | I did a fit test on the seats, Not too bad but there's LOT'S OF WORK AHEAD! Ive got to cut the old seat riser and mounts out and make a new one to put the seats and console in as one piece. Some people are like Slinkies, Their not really good for nothing... What was the bench out of?
Thanks

I thought it was time for a interior paint & ol school pinstripe & remodel. Some people are like Slinkies, Their not really good for nothing... I did good today, I was going to fabricate a frame to mount the seats & console to so they could be installed as one piece, But after a trip to the junk yard I ran across THIS ! and even better I got it for $15.00! It's exactly what I had in mind and I couldn't have made one for that price. hey, stop jacking with my truck...............lol Its going to be real nice for you Fred when you drive your hot rod to Vegas so we can trade! My thought process is that I still have the original seat frame that held the back and bottom. Rather than cut the riser out, I'm putting the frame back down on it after I weld some flat stock or angle stock into the old frame. I may end up having to cut the old frame back off in order to get the seats to move and recline, but for now, I'm going to try and keep everything as whole as possible.

I'm heading to the junk yards this weekend to see if I can find one too! | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 | It was in a 1998 Chevy 1500 but the seats that was on it were aftermarket. I was looking at a stock bench seat mount out of a 92 Chevy truck that was next to it (that would have worked with a little modification) when I came across it. This week I saw an AD truck at a local cruise night with 2nd row seats from a 98 Durango which fit perfectly and were exactly what I had been looking for. Yesterday I found a 2000 Durango with black leather seats at a salvage yard - $100. It measures just shy of 52" inches wide. I posted pics below. Just in case it helps someone I think 98-2003 Durangos have the same 2nd row seats. Also, the pass and driver seats pivot/flip up so you can store stuff under the seat. http://s848.photobucket.com/albums/ab41/malibu67/1951%20Chevy%20Truck/

The stink permeated the springs in the bench seat so it had to go. I went down to the u-pic-it scrap yard and got two captain chairs from the middle row of a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country($10 each). They fit perfectly. There's about 18" between the seats for a console. Or just leave open with some carpet to deaden the sound and besides one of the chairs has a pull out duel cup holder and both have handles to drop the backs forward to accesses the gas tank where I'm going to make a shelf. They also have pull down arm rests. | | |
