I was looking at mine and it seems really pitted - maybe once it is sand blasted it may be a bit better. darn they made those things solid back then.
It seems sacrilegious to rip the heart out of "Made in the USA Twice" Chevy with an aftermarket.
Thoughts?

Back in the early 90's I bought a NOS GM tailgate for my 54 3100, and several years ago bought a tailgate from Mar-K for our other 54 3100. It was just as good in every respect as the GM tailgate. I didn't mic the steel, but it appeared to be the same gauge. Samantha | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 | I bought mine from Jim Carter. Quality was OK / fit was good. Have no idea where it was made. | | | | Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 152 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2011 Posts: 152 | The tailgate from Mar-K is excellent, and the proper gauge steel. Terry
