I came across for sale a 235 out of a '54 3100. My '52 3100 has the stock 216 so a future engine swap might be near. My question is which 235 is better? I'm pretty sure the '54 235 is full oil pressure but would a 235 from '55-61 be a better choice? Thanks guys for your input

The '54 235 is perfect for your swap. It already has the water pump in the correct spot, so no adapter or special water pump will be needed to fit it in. The '54 engine will be full pressure. If I'm not mistaken, I beleive you will need to use the 216 bellhousing to mount it in your frame. Otherwise, it should be a drop in.

Thanks Longbox, hopefully I can pick this one up before it gets gone!
