For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 158 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2012 Posts: 158 | 292 6 cyl. - I installed a new Chinese made exhaust manifold on my 292. I had to have the intake machined for smoothness where it meets the exhaust manifold. Consequently now the intake is too low to meet the ports & bolt holes in the head. Does someone make a spacer or thick gasket to compensate for this gap...I presently trippled up 3 gaskets with silicone, kinda poor repair, but I can't think of anything else...Would like to repair it correctly...Thanks | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 | How thick does it need to be -- 16 ga? 12 ga? You should be able to make one yourself with a jig saw. Just use the gasket as a template.
