Is there anybody out there who has a video on rebuilding an inline six chevy or gmc? I bought a 2 hour video on ebay for rebuilding a BBC 454 and it was great tool for a beginner like me. Now I'm starting a rebuild of a gmc 302 and would love a visual aid. If a picture is worth a 1000 words, then a video would be 100 times that. If there isn't a video help, there should be and I would be the first customer. Please let me know if you have something like this or know where I can get find one. Thanks.

Taken a shot in the dark here, Do You play video games? computerdeath
This is a case of taking the skills you learned in Mortal Kombat and translating them into Battle Field or COD... Or PacMan?
Push Rods, Pistons,Wrist Pins and Cranks. Rockers, Sparkers, Carbs and Valves
Only the numbers change to perplex and amuse but the function remains the same.

Read the manual The Manual , translate what the video shows you into your new top of the line VIRTUALLY REAL 4D!terrain/enginescape(Maps are location specific to Your Garage!),
Be sure to use the setup menu in the version.01model of the game (see link) then just remember to set your equipment for the new specs and squeeze the triii No wait that's pushhh the buttonNoImean turn the wrench! drive

I think figgerin out the difference's between engines was like figgerin out.... well let just say, some things just take figgering out, and we can leave it at that. headscratch wink
If your not a gamer I apologize I mean no disrespect...

(For the record I am Not a Gamer but They have sprung forth from my loins blush So I've watched a game or two)

I guess I could of left the thing unanswered as a lecture on the Old Skool way of learning these things by figuring it out for yourself... but how boring is that?

The guy likes the 'Video How To' approach but since no one here has bothered to assemble a step by step instruction video series that retails for $400 I thought I'd try and 'reach out on His terms' so to speak. Liking Video 'how to's' stikes me as a younger (thinking) sort or person and the jump to Gaming wasn't hard after that, sorry if the idea of gaming is something of an unknown but, even though my truck is from mid way through the last century, I'm living and communicating from a reality well into the next. If you have to work some to understand what I'm saying, good. A brain at work is a good thing and puzzles are known to be beneficial to good brain health.

In case it eluded some, I suggested he use his existing skill set of watching a video when building a BBC and convert them into I6 terms by use of a book. Besides the Olympics were on and I was bored eeeek

No need to apologise. I do not find general comments to be nothing to say as was suggested by another.

The closest thing I can think of was from powerblock tv. On theri show "Trucks" they had a 49 Chevy truck with a 235 transplanted in it. They rebuilt the 235 on the sister show "Horsepower". I tried searching the past episodes for the video but did not find it right off. They did a pretty common sense rebuild showing a few tips and clearance checks. It may help you out if you can find it.

if you have the big block video and one build under your belt, that's prob all the videos you need. i bought a small block video years ago that helped a bit on my first 6 build since i didn't have any hands on experience at the time. the shop manuals are a big help too. the biggest help is forums like this and you can usually call a local machine shop if you get stuck on something. like was mentioned, once you get the basics down a lot is technique and the same as any engine. i say that but all i have rebuilt is sixes.

Hey Greg -

I hope that I won't need to pull my 235 anytime soon, but I enjoyed the video link. Good overview for us guys who haven't done much engine work. Thanks for finding and posting.

I would not want anything from that shop. Alot of not so good practices going on there.

Kicking self for selling off my Taskforce trucks.
Still looking for an LCF or conventional big bolt in decent shape.

As of 10-26-2022, A 55.2 Taskforce long bed now the work begins
