Bus is running really good....just trying to get it to stop now.

Pulled the rear drum yesterday and found two of the four return springs broken. I've looked for them at laps and a couple of other suppliers with no luck.

Can someone advise me where to look? O.D. is 1" and overall length is 3 1/4". Can't tell what color...maybe blue.

As always, thanks in advance.

Victor

Napa catalog doesn't go back past 60 on that model. It shows 60 as part number 80169. The illustration section shows it as 3 1/8 long. It is fat in the center & tapers down on each end with a built in hook on each end. The color is grey.

Thanks for checking. NAPA has the shoes, but no springs.
It's not a barrel spring and has 12 turns in it with end hooks at 90 degrees of each other.
Jeff at Alretta is checking to see if he has any. I think I've exhausted all the resources I know of, but will keep looking.

Thanks Wrenchbender. I'll check with the local store. Website does not go earlier than 1975.

Hello. I am running into the same problem with my 59' Bus. I called carquest and the part number H-7270 is no longer available. What did you end up using?

I ended up having them made by a spring company in OH. I posted the info somewhere on this site. I'll try to find it and put it here.

I used:

Timac Spring Manufacturing Inc.
825 Bellbrook Ave.
Xenia, OH 45385
(937) 372-3305

That was in Sept. 2012. Great service and great price. I sent them my old spring and they made 10 new ones...identical to what I sent. I think some other bolters have used them as well.

Good luck!
