I've done them before on newer trucks at a shop I worked at and they were a dangerous beast. Had to put them in a HD shop press, go as tight as I could press it, then walked out of the room, closed the door and waited. About a minute later you would hear it release, violently. Walk back in the room and collect all the peices scattered about. They always press back on easier though. So be careful!

Thanx pooter, what I lack in taent I make up for in determination, I called a local shop he told me he cuts them off with torch so back out to the shop I went. With a little more heat and some heavy pounding, I got it off and did'nt cut it off.The replacement from Napa is not as thick but right diam.Thx again.

? about dust covers, OEM won't work with replacement bearing. Are they needed has anyone replaced bearing without covers. Other sites say no need to worry.

Shouldn't need one with a sealed bearing.
