I bought one from the fiftyes. It looks beatiful, but, as you know this kind of lights were not used in this trucks. If you see my truck, what do you going to think about it? I love the idea of original look. http://www.flickr.com/photos/12130970@N05/7676974994/in/photostream thanks, Alfonso

I have used it a few times, adding a back up light is a good idea. | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 112 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 112 | This is the way it looks: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12130970@N05/7681098808/in/photostream | | | | | Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2010 Posts: 4,263 | Will that interfer with your tailgate? | | | | | Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 940 | If it does interfere with the tailgate you could always swing it sideways so the lamp is positioned under the tail light. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 | Curious - how do these lights switch on?

Do you Know the brand/source/part-number.
People have posted information about a back-up switch on an SM420 4-speed transmission, but unless you gave the right years the case has to be drilled (and the switch has to be found). I am going to try to use a Powerglide back-lights switch with my 54 Hydra-Matic. Otherwise, I'll use a switch like yours.

Tim, I use a lighted fog light switch for my back up light just in case you have an extra stuck back in your archives somewhere.

The B-31 Guide lamps that I have bolt into a hole I would have to drill in the tail lamp housing. The set you show might be easier to install.

Advance Auto sells that switch for about $8.50
