Ok All, not sure why it is not posting i'll try again. I need the lower patch panels for my AD 1/2ton. Is there a prefered vendor for sheet metal or do all vendors buy the sheet metal from the same source? Are the panels a good match in sheet metal gauge thickness and shape?

hey rc - try hitting the 'edit' button on your post and see if you can get some text in there .... if that doesn't work, try rebooting your computer, seems to work for some others

What type of computer/operating-system and what browser?

This is being experienced by more and more people. Letting the tech people know about what you are using and what you are doing might help figure this problem out.

I emailed the thread in the 'bus about this issue to Paul but no reply yet. If I remember right one poster mentioned they had this issue with Safari but not with FireFox. Dang gremlins anyway.

I guess the problem was that I copied and pasted my message text. I am using explorer.

I have the same problem, doing the same thing in Safari on an iPad.

If Paul, or the moderator of his forum (or you), edits your blank message, I bet the text shows up in the edit box.

Well, this is helpful information. At least as far a speculation/diagnostics is concerned. I'll try this in Firefox tomorrow.

Does anyone have any suggestion on this topic? There is a big difference in pricing amoung vendors for the cab patch panels. I do not mind paying more money for a better fitting panel if there is a difference amoung them.

Which patch panels? Try typing in the part number(s) and give the vendor's name.

I am looking for the lower rear cab corner patch panels. Most of the vendors seem to carry them.

Not the patch panel you are looking for, but I found that the patch panels need tweaking no mater where you buy them. Don't expect them to be perfect matches. I think I bought from 3 different vendors and I wouldn't say that one was better than the other. My work was all on the inner and outer cowls on a 48 cab. Just cut out as little as possible, but get to the good metal for sure. Take your time and make sure it fits before you stitch in the welds.

one caution on cutting out as little as possible, you need to cut all the way out past rust pitted metal inside or out. If not welding in new will be more difficult and that is the last thing you need. I purchased rear corners and front cowl inner and outer from Jim Carter door panels from chev of the 40s. I looked for american quality and ask questions. Still had to do work on all to get perfect fit.
