I wont pump enough to keep the motor running. I switched pumps but the second one does the very same thing. Any suggestions? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | what 'fills half way'? the carb bowl? an inline filter? the glass bowl filter on the pump? .... is the 2nd pump a new one or another old one? has the carb been rebuilt? is the float set properly? is your tank clean, or is there sludge in it that gets sucked against the tank outlet and stops/slows the flow? have you checked any rubber sections of fuel line for deterioration, like maybe slightly leaking weather checks or collapsing internal layer? lots of possibilities to investigate

I unhooked the line and gas flows out of it just fine. I checked all of the clamps onn the line and they are all tight. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the bowl and any inline filters never fill all the way, if the gas is flowing what ever is causing it to not keep running is elsewhere - if it's a fuel supply problem, more important is how much is in the carb
