The needle fits over the tapered or cone-shaped pin. If you torque it, it will break. Try putting some penetrating oil on first with a Q-tip or something. After it sits for a bit try to work it off. Go slow; new ones are $160!

I practiced this on a couple of spare units and it worked every time. However, a lot of old needles are very brittle and they will break off in your hand. That is why they sell them along with the decals. | | |
