I found my dad's first truck- a '51 Chevy 3100 5-window- in the relative's yard where it's been for 30 years. When I open the hood, I see that the 235 has been sitting with no radiator cap or oil cap. What potential problems could this pose? Any advice, caveats, etc.? I'd appreciate any words of wisdom!

check the radiator for mouse nests (just ask wetwilly5757 what happened to him) and make sure that it is not rusted under the valve cover, just two small things to look at.

Oh boy, at least around these parts, mice, mud wasps and of course, water! No easy way to tell. Drain the oil, see what comes out. As mentioned, mice can ruin radiators, carbs, engines, and upholstery (don't ask how I know THAT one!) Best of luck!
