When I open the hood, I see that the 235 has been sitting with no radiator cap or oil cap. What potential problems could this pose? Any advice, caveats, etc.? I'd appreciate any words of wisdom!

No easy way to tell. Drain the oil, see what comes out. As mentioned, mice can ruin radiators, carbs, engines, and upholstery (don't ask how I know THAT one!) Best of luck!
