Hi, I am TC from Juneau, Alaska. I recently purchased this 1966 C20 when it came for sale after it's owners passing.
The truck has been in the very remote village of Gustavus, Alaska for the last 21 years at the last owners fishing 'cabin'.
Gustavus is the closest airport to Glacier Bay. The truck is a complete 1966 C20 Fleetside. It is missing its original
engine and has a 1968 307cid 2bbl that was originally installed in a Chevelle with a Powerglide (ran the casting numbers to get
that info). The truck has a SM420 Muncie 4spd and is the Base trim model. The 307cid runs really well and even has its Turbo Fire
air cleaner lid still in place. The truck has been repainted but looks to have chevy orange as its original color (my fav!).
Rust will be the most work on this truck I think.....plans are to glass the really bad spots and drive the truck while I
fix up the interior and go through the drivetrain. Its last owner took very good care of it mechanically and it has brand
new wheels and tires and just had bearing and brake service. The steering and brakes are very good and the truck drives
arrow straight. I think this is a good DD project and well worth putting some work into. These truckas are very rare
around town here and while its technically not a stovebolt, I wanted to share it here and get to know some of you, and
who knows.....maybe this truck had an I6 originally. Its missing a few parts and its biggest trouble right now is that the
fuse block is rusted and needs replaced, maybe I will post in the 'parts wanted' section to see if anyone has an extra OEM.
Well, kinda rambled for an intro I guess......

here is one picture for you.... 1966 C20

Hi TC welcome from Scotland.
Nice looking truck you've found, sounds like you've already got a plan.
I'm sure you'll turn up that elusive fuse block here.
Good luck.
Jock.

Hi Jock .........and thanks for the welcome. My wife and her Mom are going to be in your neck of the woods later this year. Her Mom was a travel agent for some years and they are going to Europe for the third time in Octoboer. They are arriving in the UK and and then renting a car and driving around Ireland and back to the UK through Scotland. They are very excited about it
and the more we study up for her trip, the more jealous I am becoming. If you feel like PM'ing any local info....I would love to hear it......and thank you again for introducing yourself.

TC

Welcome 6T6 You can get parts from one of the fellow Stovebolters here or there several different repop guys around too. There is a fellow in Oregon that has N.O.S. and he might be of interest to you.
Looks like you have a nice truck to start on if that is the only damage to it.
Hey 6T6 I forgot to tell you the fellows name it's Tony at 4,5,6 Chevy Trucks.

Thanks for the kind comment TC.
Alaska to Scotland, that's quite a journey!
I just hope the weather improves for your wifes visit,it's been truly miserable so far this summer(?)
Mind you there's always plenty to see and do,we're used to rain here. lol.

They'll enjoy Ireland too, the people there are amazing, there's plenty of 'characters'.

I'm based in Ayrshire, home of Rabbie Burns, they've just recently opened a shiny new museum in his honour (long overdue imo)and i'm sure you're well aware there's plenty of other historical places of interest here as well.
Feel free to PM me if you have any queries etc.
Better to discuss these privately than here,it's a welcome centre after all........

Just remind them when they're driving here KEEP LEFT! lol.
