Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 | I'm working on a 51 chevy 1/2 ton pick up and I have what I think is a saginaw 3 speed tranny and only have the stock 3 on the tree linkage. can anyone tell me if the stock there on the tree stuff will work on my transmission? I don't want to go through the hassle of installing it if it won't work with an way solution. In other words, if it takes too much work to make it work, I'd rather just use the stock 4 speed. Any help and/or suggestions are very welcomed. Thanks in advance. You will probably need to extend the length of the shift rods because the side plate of the Saginaw is longer, and shaped differently than the original 3 speed. I have converted a few later-model trucks (55-61) to use the Saginaw, but not one of the early ones like yours. Jerry

I've never seen them. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 | Take a look here. It's for the Muncie, but it'll show you how the stock linkage works. regards, Leon | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 | | | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 16 | Does anyone have pictures of the stock 3 speed tranny arms? | | |
