I was told one from a '56 and up truck is the one. I need the serial or model number of this unit. I called a local electric shop and the guy has a million different ones on the shelf and he's not sure which one I need. Anyone help?

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | model numbers will vary [that page and the following] depending on the output [about 25 amp standard, or 30a, 35a, 55a, etc] - what you want is a Delco generator with a red tag that says 12V, not too tough .... and a 12V voltage regulator [new are Standard brand VR22 or VR24 I believe] .... it will look almost identical to the 6V generator so maybe you could take that in and show them, if they can't figure it out maybe they don't know enough to deal with  Bill | | |
